School Breakfast, Lunch and Morning Nutrition Breaks

Every day, Amery Schools offer healthy meals to students through the National School Lunch Program. The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day.

How does the program work?

♦ High quality Breakfasts or Morning Nutrition Breaks and Lunches are available to all students using their personal ID number.  Student purchases will be deducted from the family's meal account.

♦ Some children pay the regular price, but children from families with low and moderate incomes qualify for free or reduced price meals.  Click Here to learn more about applying for Free or Reduced Price meals.

♦ The maximum charge for reduced price is only 40¢ for lunch and 30¢ for breakfast!

♦ Children who qualify for free or reduced price meals are not publicly identified in any way.

Milk Prices:

♦ For Milk Break, extra milk or for those carrying a bag lunch, milk cost is $0.35 per carton
♦ Alll Preschool and Kindergarten students receive free morning milk break
♦ Morning milk break is free for students in Grades 1-5 who qualify for free or reduced meals


 

A' la Carte Purchases (available at Amery High School only):

Our A' la Carte program operates independently from the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and offers beverages, sandwiches, pizza and snack-type items for students to purchase.  These food items may be charged to the student's family lunch account only if a permission form signed by the parent/guardian is on file in the School Nutrition Office.  Items may be purchased if the family account has a positive balance.  Students alos have the option to pay cash for their purchases. A' la Carte items may not be charged to the family account if there is a negative balance.

Family Meal Account Information

♦ Every family has a meal account created when their child enrolls in school and students are assigned their own ID number. 

♦ All family members share the same account.  Deposits made to your family account are used by all studentsin your family.

♦ A positive balance must be maintained in the family meal account in order for a student to eat school meals.  High School A' la Carte purchases will not be allowed if the family account does not have a positive balance.

♦ An automated phone call will be sent to families with low or negative balances.  If you receive a call, please add money to your account immediately.  Your students may not be allowed to participate in the District's meal program until a positive balance is available for use.

♦ Payments to a family account may be made by sending a check with your student, mailing a check or money order, or in person at any school office.  You can also add funds online with a credit or debit card using the e~funds for schools program.  Contact the School Nutrition Office to get your secure family ID number and PIN.

at 715-268-9771, ext. 255 or ext. 359.  The School Nutrition
office is located just inside the front main doors of the Amery High School.
