The School District of Amery is proud to announce that they are the recipients of a $6,000 grant from the Bernick’s Family Foundation, supported by the Central Minnesota Community Foundation.  The purpose of the grant award is to fund the Amery High School TeenScreen program for the next three school years.

The mission of the Amery TeenScreen program is to help identify and provide services to students with physical and mental health needs through the use of a screening tool and ongoing case management.  TeenScreen is a research-based, comprehensive health-screening tool that focuses on student health, mental health and at-risk behaviors.  In addition to identifying student concerns, the program also attempts to link students with necessary treatment.  We are proud to be able to offer this program to Amery High School students, and very thankful for the gracious grant gift.

Information for Student-Athletes

Prospective student-athletes should check out the NCAA Guide for the college bound student-athlete at www.ncaaclearinghouse.net, where you may access the registration materials and link you to the necessary information.  It is strongly suggested that prospective student-athletes who plan to participate in intercollegiate athletics at an NCAA Division I or II institution use this on-line registration.  It is also extremely important that prospective student-athletes read the guide carefully and understand the NCAA initial eligibility requirements.

WISCareers

The guidance office is pleased to announce that we subscribe to the WISCareers web site www.wiscareers.wisc.edu.  WISCareers guides students through the process of making important career and education decisions using WISCareers.  Students may access their personal account from any internet-ready computer including those at school, home, libraries, etc. Students are given an account number to log in, and then they chose a user name and password.

  • 700+ Occupations: Students will find occupations to match their interests, skills, and values, or budget from a database of over 700 occupations. Further, they will find salary information, employment outlook, and education path for the occupations they find most interesting/suitable.
  • 4,000+ Postsecondary Schools: Students may conduct a school search to match their interests and needs from a database of over 4,000 educational institutions nationwide. School information is directly linked to college home pages, campus maps, and online college applications.
  • Budget Program: Students can build a budget based on their individual needs and financial resources. In addition, WISCareers includes several resources to assist students with applying for financial aid.
  • Job Seeking Tools: Tools are available to help your student create a resume and career portfolio as well as access information about Wisconsin employers and their current job listings. We encourage you to look at WISCareers with your student.
