Academy Day 2012

Senators Kohl & Johnson, along with congressmen Petri, Ribble and Duffy, invite high school students, and their parents, to meet with representatives regarding admission into military academies.  Representatives from all academies will be available on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Experimental Aircraft Association center in Oshkosh WI, from 10AM-12:30PM.  For more information call 608-264-5338 or visit www.kohl.senate.gov.

Camp Staff Selection Criteria: Camp Icaghowan prides ourselves on a “Mission Driven / Camper Focused” staff. Camp staff selections are based on your:

  • Previous experience with youth
  • Knowledge of group dynamics
  • Understanding and ability to facilitate programs to accomplish our youth development mission
  • Ability to make sound decisions regarding safety
  • Passion for helping youth grow

Camp Staff Application Process & Training: Each staff member goes through:

  • An application process
  • 3 reference checks
  • A personal interview
  • A criminal background check
  • A sexual predator background check prior to hire
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • 11 days of staff training in camp
  • They are monitored weekly and supervised to assure their ability to safely operate the program. Icaghowan’s staff to camper ratio is 1 staff member to every 6 campers with a minimum of two staff per cabin.
