Why are we doing it?
It is vital for all students to explore and plan for their future. The state leaders feel so strongly about the ACP process; they are requiring it for all students. The state ruling is PI-26 Education for Employment (with ACP).
What are the local and regional labor market needs?
Amery is a community of approximately 3,000 residents in Polk County, Wisconsin located about 50 miles from the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. The area has an abundance of natural scenery and outdoor activities.

How does our district provide preparation for post-secondary training?
We offer 19 courses for dual credit with Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in 5 departments: Agriculture (2 credits), Business (29 credits), Math (3 credits), Science (5 credits), and Technology Ed. (2 credits). In addition, we offer the ACCT (Assistant Childcare Teacher) certificate and the CISCO IT Essentials certificate.
Students have the option to earn up to 41 college credits while attending Amery High School. The high school instructors work with the technical college instructors to align the curriculum, materials, and assessments so the college course can be offered at the high school.
What work-based learning opportunities do we provide?
Students have an opportunity to job shadow a career of their choice and participate in fieldtrips to local businesses during a required Careers class and at other times. Juniors and Seniors can participate in our Youth Apprenticeship Program in the areas of Agriculture, Finance, Healthcare, Hospitality, Marketing, or Manufacturing.
How will it be implemented?
Warrior Time, Careers Class, Guidance Activities/Wisconsin Developmental Guidance Model, Classroom Activities, School-Wide Activities and Fieldtrips, Guest Speakers, Collaboration with Parents, and Community Members.
CTE Academies at the high school provide a relevant, hands-on experience operating school-based enterprises in the areas of: Agriculture (Hydroponics and Aquaculture), Business (Entrepreneurship Shark Tank and Marketing), FCE (Catering), and Technology Ed. (House Building).
