Amery Community Education aims to provide educational, social, recreational and cultural opportunities to all people and organizations in the Amery area in an effort to enhance community life through the expanded use of school and community facilities. It is the intent of Amery Community Education to support the existing programs of other organizations and to provide additional programs where recognized needs exist.
Goals:
- Expand use of school facilities by the community
- Assess the resources and needs of the community
- Develop interagency cooperation between the school and community
- Determine appropriate community education classes, activities and events to sponsor
The School District of Amery's Community Education Programming complies with the Wisconsin DPI interpretation of State Statute 120.13(19) by offering programs that are operated outside of the usual instructional programming, are open to everyone in the community, are supported by fees, and by including expenses that are directly related to the activities provided.
The following are not included in Amery's Community Education Programming:
- Activities which limit access to only pupils enrolled in the school district
- Costs for district-wide instructional program administration and support services
- Expenditures for the welfare of and safety of pupils and staff involved with K-12 instructional programs
- Facilities, sites and improvements unless specifically for community service activities
The following are items that are not included in Amery's Community Education Programming unless an additional cost can be directly associated with a specifically provided community service activity:
- Custodian, and other building and site maintenance costs
- Security services
- Utility costs
