Katie has been a School Psychologist since 2001. She has served in the role of Student Success Coordinator for the Middle and High School since 2021. She specializes in consultation, parent and family relationships, program development, assessment, leadership, autism and behavior. Katie has experience in suicide prevention and intervention, mental health screening and intervention, RTI, PBIS and at-risk programming.
Katie is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP). The NCSP is the only professional credential acknowledging school psychologists who meet rigorous, nationally recognized standards. School psychologists who hold the NCSP demonstrate their commitment to the highest levels of professionalism, ethical practice, and continuing professional development. Katie holds Master of Science in Education (MSE) and Education Specialist degrees in School Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. Her undergraduate training was at Hamline University in St. Paul.
In addition to her work locally, Katie also is a state and local School Psychology leader. She is a previous Wisconsin State Delegate to the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). In this position she provided leadership on the national level. Katie used her knowledge and understanding of State issues to guide NASP's national strategic direction and also promoted NASP's professional positions and priority goals at the state level.
Katie has served on the Wisconsin School Psychology Association (WSPA) board since 2007. She spent seven years representing the Northwest Region to the WSPA board as a regional representative. This involved both statewide and regional leadership and coordination. She also served as Regional Representative Coordinator and NCSP Parity Chair. She previously coordinated the Threat Assessment Certificate for WSPA and worked on a joint WSPA/DPI committee, developing the state-wide School Psychology Evaluation System. Katie is currently the president of WSPA.
Katie lives in Amery with her husband and two boys. She enjoys reading, crafting, cooking, and activities with her family.
